I am probably better than you. While, I have yet to learn Flash, but when I master it I shall contribute to this site. I am utter genius. I love clay animation. Youtube sucks. I have no life beyond art. The picture above states that I am awesome.

Anything with absurd humor can't be redone the same way twice. The fact is, we can sort of know what to expect thanks to the first "Dad" cartoon. This ruins any hope for a sequel. Don't get me wrong, it's still funny, but it's better on its own than as a sequel. That's the only thing I can complain about, sorry to sound so negative.
But if there has to be a sequel to "Dad's Home" this is really the only way it can be done. Just keep in mind that "Dad's Home" was as good as the series can get- it can only go downhill from there.
Oh, I guess I should say what I like about this flash.
Your flash skills have improved since the first. The effects are very nice, animation is smooth enough. I'm glad you stuck with your original jerky art style from the first cartoon. You stayed true to your fans without making any changes that could ruin anything.
Good effort, good job. Just can't top the first.

Let me start off with what I liked.
The artwork and animation was done very well to stay true to the original cartoon and was of high quality. Most of the voicework was good too.
But it really did need to be more true to Charlie Brown. The title should have been, "You're a murder Charlie Brown" or "Vengeance is Sweet, Charlie Brown" parodying the titles of the old cartoon. I really would have loved to see more irony built into it, and a little more creativity. We really did need to see more characters die.
For instance, Linus should have been strangled by his own blanket, Lucy should have had the football shoved down her throat or something. The humor in this is the ironic sick twist to the classic character and that should have had more emphasis. I guess we needed more of a parody instead of the characters in a more realistic world.
Charlie is out for revenge, right? We should have had more on why that is. We should have had a reminder of the terrible treatment he has received from his peers in the past.
It was kind of hard to follow. The transition between Charlie Brown going insane in his house and then being thrown into an insane asylum left us confused. What just happened? How did they find him? Why is Snoopy visiting? And leaving us with a "To Be Continued" was kind of cheap, don't you think? There are already too many Newgrounds cartoons that end that way. I think that throwing Charlie into an asylum was already enough of a conclusion. What else is there to tell?
And rap? I understand what the joke is supposed to be, but remember, this is a parody. Instead of rap music, we should have heard some fucked up Charlie Brown music- or something more true to the series.
Overall, I think it really needed more thought put into it. Next time, put more thought into the script and not so much the artwork.
Good luck.
Author's Response:
Well the fragmented storytelling was a specific design choice, but I agree that the transitions are something I should improve. The title suggestions you mentioned would parody the half hour Peanut specials ("It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" ect) . However, such titles would be too long as there is a 25 character limit. I instead chose to parody the title of "The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show" series.
The house scene wasn't real, it was a delusion that Charlie Brown had while in the mental facility, the TV was his window into reality.
The music was just my preference, I've been hearing people say they either love or hate it, but it was appropriate for the vision I had in mind for this first installment. To be continued should be self-explanatory, meaning there a few more people on ol' Chucks "to-kill list."
Anyway, thanks for the insightful review. I've been using the constructive criticisms I've received in the comments to revise the script and try to make the next installment a better experience.

"Why can't Flash artists put forth this much effort"
Ahh, the Jerry series. The harsh bitter comedy of reality. I always liked how each part of the series had the same theme of loneliness.
Jerry is a depressing figure. Alone, and never amounts to anything. Here, we see his childhood, and the sad events that lead up to the climax the entire series lead around- Jerry's suicide.
The artwork is both styled, and recognizable. We can recognize Jerry, his father, and even Jackie all much younger. The animation, while not exactly the work of Chuck Jones, it gets the job done, and is smooth enough. It isn't jerky in any way, and doesn't slow down or speed up. Both the artwork and animation are consistent through the entire cartoon. I could bicker about the animation on the tricycle, but it's too minor to worry about. In general- it's good.
Let's talk about story. You didn't sell us out. Jerry in his childhood, suffers from uncaring parents. His father is selfish and emotionally distant, constantly complaining about his disappointment in fatherhood. His mother cares for her son, and can realize that she isn't ready for parenthood. We've seen the middle, the ending, and now we finally see the beginning. The characters are well done, and have dimension to them. They aren't flat with one sided personalities. They are flawed, and most importantly- HUMAN. They don't ever pop out of character. We're even able to recognize these characters from the previous episodes by their distinctive personalities
Jerry is shy and silent. His father is an ass.
It is interesting to see Jerry young and innocent, and that very innocence waning. We even learn that he was an artistic young boy- and a disturbed, unloved child. Jerry has had few happy moments in his life. But at least here, we see that he may have some sort of hope after all. We even get to see him as an angel, in contrast to the constant image of him being tortured in Hell.
And since I am indeed reviewing this, I must mention the good use of music. There is none when none is needed, and when it is it fits the mood quite nicely.
Animation is not supposed to be some kid's medium used to sell toys. It is not a "neat" way to move pictures. This is what animation and film making is about.
Telling stories. And you, my friend, have done just that.
Ten stars, fully earned. Professional and well done.

I never personally liked casual flash games. I myself ten to prefer games with a storyline and open gameplay. But this is strangely addicting, and you can't help but play it time after time. It doesn't get old.
While, not being accustomed to casual games, I don't think I can professionally critique this as well as somebody else could. But I'll try anyways.
I appreciate the old timey graphics, I've always appreciated creative uses of sprites. I also enjoy the dull colors, making the scene seem dangerous, but subtle. The music is catchy, and I don't mind listening to it.
My only real criticism is that the extra windows that I have to jump into are to low and hard to jump into. You have to be lucky, because it appears to fast to think about it. It'll kill you every time.
But overall, well done.

Should people be offended by this? Look at it this way, if people didn't get offended, and you wouldn't be getting so much publicity.
No, I am in no way offended. It was a tragic event, a bullied young adult creating his message and print on society through murder. This is just trying to get inside the killer's head and turning a very serious fatal event into an innocent toy. It is more or less a contrast. Turning a terrible tragic experience into dark humor.
Now, while playing this, I couldn't tell if you had some sort of actual purpose, or if you were doing this for the sake of offending people and gaining internet popularity. Cashing in on the crowd Super Columbine Massacre RPG! created.
I couldn't tell if I was supposed to take this as art or as a joke. Perhaps it's just an opinion.
And if I was supposed to take this as a joke, it's a tad bit early to make fun of Virginia Tech, don't you think?
As for the gameplay, I appreciated the variety. The interesting use, forcing the player to come up with a strategy to complete the level.
It was too short. All three levels could be beaten in less than a minute.
The second level, getting caught while Cho talks to himself is kind of unfair. I mean, what he's saying is necessary to know where to go next and it's not like I can speed the text up.
This is probably just me, but it seems to me that killing and injuring is at random. Why can't I just shoot them?
The graphics and dialogue were both very amusing. The music was beyond annoying and irritating. I would suggest that using simple 8-bit music would help translate the topic to an actual video game. If that made any sense.
Should this be removed? No. Censorship is a sin. All opinions have a right to be heard, regardless of who agrees.

Never too early.

The replay value is amazing, it's completely imaginative, an fun.
It's more of a toy than a game, and would have loved to continue playing. It definitely should have been longer, and no ending. What I mean that at the end, if I chose to slay the dragon, the game shouldn't end, it should let me find more dragons to slay. If I was the dragon's tool, it should have let me go to get more money and bring it to the dragon.
But the free unique gameplay is one that will have me going back over and over. A good game that will be a nice addition to my favorites.

My god- the variety of moves with the combos, the smooth control, the artwork- nearly PERFECT.
I strongly urge you to try again, however.
Use the same graphics, the same programming, everything, but just this:
Make it longer, and give the enemies just a tad less health.
It's amazingly close to smash bros. We need more levels based around the Mario universe.
The camera could be a tad better too. When I'm jumping on platforms, it's impossible to tell where the next platform is, I have to guess.
Overall, nice gameplay, nice artwork, animation, nice use of control. It just needs to be longer, the enemies less healthful, and the camera more helpful.

While I don't feel the quotes really fit in well, they were pretty creatively used at some points.
It was a very clever interpretation of Star Fox, and it actually made me laugh.
The animation was well done, and it was very smooth. And you did a good job of making the characters recognizable.
Overall, it was really funny, and it worked.

I tried to get the voices to fit as well as I could.

"What an artistic view on Nintendo games"
A very creative idea. Very creative.
Very good artwork, and pretty nice animation at places.
I would have to disagree with your tastes in music, but that's my personal choice.
It was a little short, I really would have liked to see Samaus, Kirby, or Starfox. But I can understand if you were strictly using characters Miyamoto created.
A very interesting look at Nintendo games, and a very cool, artistic look to it.
Good job.
